FRLC Board Meeting Agenda

            Check In & Prayer: This meeting was rescheduled from January 6, when there was difficulty with the Conference Call. Ed called in but was unable to stay long. Bohdan and Melanie had a rather informal meeting.

 

We received the treasurer’s report, noting that our finances are better than this time last year by about $1000.

 

Ed had informed us that he used Eventbrite for a recent cruise and didn’t think it was worth the money. One of the advantages is advertising to a broader base, but that would not be appropriate or helpful for our group. We decided not to pursue this.

 

Bohdan has had a couple emails about the retreat, particularly about ride sharing options and arrival time. He indicated that participants should aim to be at the Denver airport between 2:30 & 3:30 pm to ride together. The retreat center is 1.5-2 hours away, so this would make for an arrival time of 5-5:30 pm.

 

He has tried to post a link to the retreat brochure on the FaceBook page but has not been able to do it. WordPress has been giving a message about refreshing the connection to FaceBook. We will ask Bea if she knows how to fix this.

 

Melanie shared some of the WordPress annual report on our blog. It includes:

This blog was viewed about 1,900 times in 2015. There were 11 pictures uploaded, taking up a total of 4 MB. That’s about a picture per month. The busiest day of the year was July 20th with 42 views. The most popular post that day was Board. In 2015, there were 14 new posts. The pages with the most views (in order) are the home page, board, “about”, brochures and meeting format. The top referring sites were FaceBook, clergyrecovery.com, clergystuff.com, facesandvoicesofrecovery.org and ultraslow.com. Visitors came from 70 countries, mostly from the US (1,345) but there were 253 hits from Brazil and 44 from Italy.

 

We also discussed meals as indicated in the contract with the retreat center. It appears that they added a surcharge for the banquet instead of adding the banquet as an additional meal. We will contact the retreat center for clarification.

 

Bohdan will contact the people in Colorado who are members of the Fellowship, encouraging them to come to the retreat. Melanie will contact Ed about getting names of members in a larger group of western states to personally invite.

 

One of the regular participants in the Thursday recovery calls has had difficulties with being disconnected from the conference service repeatedly during the call. We don’t know how to fix this but are concerned about it. Melanie has mentioned the retreat as an announcement when she has been on the call.
